For the past week and a half I have been reading this book.
This book is great. It is not the only book I have read about getting on top of your finances, this book is not a step by step of what you need to do, this is Vincents story on how he got where he is today. It is the typical story of where most people are these days. The positions at work and financially, have at least a little debt.
Vincent and his wife were in the photography business, working for a newspaper, they had accumulated more than 140 thousand dollars in debt in eighteen months. Now I don’t want to go into the story, as I am recommending, for those of you who want to get on top of their finances, to buy this book. It is so inspirational and is proof that you don’t have to keep paying your mortgage for the rest of your life, it can be paid early! You can live the life you want but you need to be more open minded in how to get money. Starting a side business like Vincent and his wife Elizabeth diddid is a great way of bringing in extra money. If you want it bad enough, you will put the procedures in place and get it done.
Do you know the definition of mortgage?
Let’s break it down shall we?
The origin of Mort means death.
The definition of gage means a valued object disposed as a guarantee of good faith.
We still have a good few years left on our mortgage, but after Joel (husband) and I read freelance to freedom, Vincent’s story has inspired us to get on top of our money and put a plan in place where we are looking to be debt free and this is including our house, within 8 years. Now this is much lower than 20 years we originally thought we would be paying. So we will be debt- including mortgage, free much earlier than first anticipated. Do you know, just getting the plan down, so you can physically see what you need to do is so satisfying too.
So yes, if Vincent and Elizabeth can do it, then so can we!
This very day, Vincent,Elizabeth and their 3 children have the life of freedom, money, time and location. You can see them on Facebook travelling as a family. So Freelance to freedom is a good read and a book I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to implement change in their lives.
